  • To Attain Healing

We provide School-Based Mental and Behavioral Health Services.

Our school-based case managers are on site, in the schools every day. They are part of school meetings and schedules and can engage with students where and when they need it. We help your child become successful in school, at home, and in the community. By bridging the academic and mental health worlds, we provide support and encouragement and address challenges as they arise during the school day.

    Kindred Spirit

Here at Kindred Spirit Behavioral Health, our school-based counseling program is currently providing on-site therapeutic support in Edge Academy, Akros and AkroTech. Our licensed therapist and case managers work directly within these schools' environments to address behavioral, emotional, and social challenges that impact student success.

  • Akron Children's Hospital

As your partner in supporting the health of your students, I wanted to provide a description of our services for inclusion in any parent or guardian communication related to House Bill 8 compliance. Below is a description you can use, and please let me know if there is anything else we can assist you with.

Akron Children’s Hospital School Health Services is our dedicated partner for student health support. Our clinic staff administer medications, provide first aid and illness evaluation, and address the needs of students with specific medical management plans for chronic conditions such as asthma, diabetes, and seizure disorders. Additionally, our clinic staff conduct state-required vision and hearing screenings and ensure immunization compliance.

Akron Children’s Hospital School Health Services also provides our district with access to School Based Health Services, delivering quick and convenient medical care right at school. Akron Children’s School Based Health staff and providers offer private and confidential medical care to students during school hours with parental or guardian consent.
